What an incredible six months this has been

CD – Dreams Come Alive

James Stone and his partner Kim Hirst have also played a huge part in helping me with events and just recently have given many many hours of their time in writing and producing two and soon to be three wonderful songs.

The first came about with a conversation I had with Reece Mc Nally one of Chris’s close friends and Morgan Edwards – Reece happened to say that he had written a rap about losing Chris shortly after it happened – bear in mind – this was 2 and a half years later.  Reece – if you do not know was the brave boy who tried to rescue Chris on that fateful day.  Morgan another close friend happened to be very musical and also wrote a song for Chris’s funeral.  So, James asked me to bring Reece, Morgan and myself to his house in Rhyl and they got to work.  The second song James and Kim wrote with a selection of words and phrases from us all and a lead singer who has the most wonderful voice for her 17 years.  Hope you like them.

Crucial Crew

I am pleased to announce that I have been invited to  join Crucial Crew in September and that means that as far as I am concerned – I will be honoured to be able to join the Fire Service, Police, Childline, Probation Service to name but a few in a tour around local schools all of us getting out message out to the pupils.  Having shadowed them for a day – I found it an incredible way to access pupils – and really get our point across.

General Information

A meeting at the Welsh Assembly is imminent I hope as I have had many discussions to this end and many meetings to attempt to find the right people to speak to.

UNLTD

I was honoured to be invited as the guest speaker at the Unltd awards day in Cardiff earlier this year.  I met so many incredible like minded people and forged I am sure some good relationships too.

I am soon to launch a type of Welsh Dragons Den to encourage entrepreneurship amongst young people – this should forge great partnerships with local business and young people alike.

ALWAYS AND FOREVER WEBSITE

A new website is also due to be launched.  www.always-and-forever.org to help parents who have lost a child and young people who have lost a friend.  I am aware of other sites that do an extremely valuable job – but I am hoping there is room for an online support network.

FACEBOOK

Joining FACEBOOK has opened my eyes and I love it I am hooked.  It is an excellent medium to keep in touch with people especially Chris’s friends – to see that they are having fun and are OK.  I have made many new friends on there – done some mad quizzes just for the fun of it and found my friend in Aussie.  Have a look at my groups.  Search Debbie Anne Turnbull.

THUNDERCAT RACING

This event is on 20th and 21st June at Penmaenmawr – and I am really looking forward to it.  I will be there fighting for my cause – and having fun too !!  Having met Fiona Pascoe the MD last week – it was like meeting an old friend.  She is so passionate about these events and again bringing the local community together as I am.  Promises to be a great weekend.  somethins different – support it – go have a good time.

If anyone is avalibale, please contact me by email, using the contact page on this website or you can call me on 0787 9648568. Help Needed for both days, even if it is for only one hour!!

Schools

My presentations in schools are gaining momentum and I am pleased with the feedback.  I spoke to almost 1000 schoolchildren last week before I literally had to take a week off with exhaustion.  Yes, it takes so much out of me but I feel duty bound to do this.  I am doing lessons and assemblies now and really enjoy the wit and genuine interest of the children.   Their sensitivity and words of support are a real tonic too.

MANDY ROBERTS – Company Secretary,  Admin Officer and Friend

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Mandy Roberts as our Co Secretary.  Mandy is my girl Friday – sounding board – office assistant and trusted friend.  She has been an absolute star this past 6 months in helping to shape up and sort out my office – incorporating systems and just being there.  Well Done Mandy.

Events will be on my facebook pages and on this site also in the coming months.

There will be another newsletter at the end of the month and thereafter monthly.
